in the days before my father’s recent passing.

after waiting for the swelling to go down,
following minor/major brain surgery…
dad is resting.
with a shunt/drain in his brain…
dad is resting.tomorrow morning the doctors will be operating,
using the gamma knife,
to remove as much cancer as possible…
from his brain.if it works…
it will enable him to resume immunotherapy,
with the intention of prolonging his life.difficult conversations 🤒

no gamma knife today,
no surgery.dad’s oxygen level was too low…
due to pneumonia…
too low to safely anesthetize.due to the severity & progression of his cancer…
throughout his brain, spine, ribs, pelvis, & elsewhere…
we’ve been left with no other choice…
but to transition our efforts toward hospice.thank you ALL for your love & support…
as our family prepares to grieve our Mertoni.
